One task, multiple models: choosing an orchestration mode

NC AgentOS lets you choose multiple models per agent and a coordinator. The purpose is to organise preparation and review as a clear process.
Match the mode to the question
- Parallel: prepare independent alternatives and combine them through a coordinator.
- Chain: develop a result sequentially, passing it to the next participant.
- Author–critic–editor: separate drafting, checking and editing. At least three models are required.
- Vote: produce a result when there is an absolute majority. Agreement does not establish truth.
- Route: choose an appropriate model for the task.
- Fallback: try the next model in order after a temporary failure.
Criteria before participants
Define completeness, accuracy, sources, cost and time. Start with a small set, run controlled tasks and add participants only when the evidence supports it. More calls can increase cost while repeating the same errors.
Practical limits
API orchestra participants primarily handle text in the reviewed version. The main agent’s tool access does not automatically apply to every participant. Compatible connections, keys and provider limits are required.
